INFRA has put in production the Fisher-Tropsch reactors for its GTL plant

INFRA is progressing with the fabrication of the Fischer-Tropsch (FT) reactors for its 100 barrel per day GTL plant. This patented configuration has been designed to handle INFRA’s first in class and best in class high productivity catalyst for direct conversion of synthesis gas into liquid fuels.

The main challenge with high productivity catalyst is to remove exothermically generated reaction heat as quickly as possible, thus avoiding the accumulation of heat and hotspot in the catalyst tube. INFRA’s reactor design accomplished this task through providing a novel flow pattern for high pressure cooling water, thus facilitating the efficient removal of FT heat from reactor tubes. The company believes this novel FT reactor design will become a game changer and achieve economy of scale for small and large scale GTL plants based on INFRA’s technology.

The completed FT block will be shipped to the production site in Q1 2016.
