INFRA Technology attended and presented at the 2018 EFI Gas Flare Monetization & Syngas Conversion Forum in Houston, TX. The corporate presentation outlined updated emphasis on the cost saving benefits of adding power generation and product upgrading in a small-scale GTL facility. There is a lot of focus on both the amount of money needed to start a GTL project and the cost to operate these plants, sometimes in remote locations. Using off the shelf technology to re-use heat generated from our Fischer Tropsch (F-T) reactions for generation of electricity on site and to maximize the return of GTL product by upgrading to transportation fuel was the focus of our presentation.
Although many people agreed that the capital cost of building GTL facilities and operational cost are understood, there is not much focus on reducing those cost yet. There is a lack of standardization of F-T process globally and many people are still working in competing technologies. Most companies are still trying to get initial plants funded and built. Because we have built the M100 Demonstration plant and we operate it, INFRA is unique in being able to identify and forecast both initial plant cost savings and cost savings while in operations. This is the next step many of the suppliers in our industry will be asked to take, and INFRA is presenting on this future requirement already. Presenting the benefits of INFRA’s GTL process, along with its simple design and combined catalyst efficiencies, gives us outlets to market to sell our products into. Also, understanding new and emerging technologies in both Syngas and GTL processes keeps us informed of developments in this emerging industry.
